With its depiction of
rustic homes, blue sky, and impressive mountains rising from the
background, this tapestry is a marvelous work of art
illustrating a day in an Andean town. This incredible piece is
made of 90% sheep wool and 10% cotton, and was hand-colored
using dyes from the cochineal insect. The tapestry can be
beautifully hung on the wall using two thin wood dowels or thin
wood panels stretched across the top and bottom of the tapestry.
An equally impressive, albeit a bit more expensive, solution is
to use a stretched wood frame. Either way, the tapestry makes
for an elegant focal centerpiece. |
