From
immemorial times music has played a central role in societies
and cultures. The Andean world is not an exception. In religious
celebrations and local parties a band of musicians is always
present. This ceramic by Dina Pancahua presents a group of
musicians playing typical instruments, a woman preparing some
beverage and a llama between them. The figures are
included in a cooking pot. This extraordinary piece, probably
inspired in Dinas’ recollections from her youth at Cuzco, will
make shorter the distance between our cultures.
